Scripture: 1 Chronicles 16:34 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Twas the day before Thanksgiving and all through the house ...it was a madhouse. There was cleaning, and shopping, bags everywhere. Pots were overflowing and everyone was scared. How many people are coming and who likes what. Does anyone have allergies or who knows what. Why is it that Thanksgiving does not prelude with the same ambiance as Christmas. Thanksgiving invokes a lot more anxiety and stress until the meal is over and the cleaning and football commence. And everyone, or most everyone, is in some state of coma. It is amazing that the day that is only upscaled by New Years Eve for alcohol consumption is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Personally, I keep my pallet in pristine condition anticipating the festivities to come. Obviously, others are not so concerned. I pray that you enjoy this day as a day of preparation. Take some time and reflect on what you are thankful for in life. Not just things that you have received or things you could do, but even things that supersede that level. Be advised, God is thankful for you and appreciates your efforts to be the blessing God calls you to be.
Pray with me, Holy God we are thankful for all that You have provided, ...in the many ways You provide, for us each day. Ways that are known, ways that are not. Thank you, Lord. Thank you for our church, our community of faith, and hear our prayers for our loved ones. We ask Your blessing over them and their Thanksgiving celebrations in Jesus' name we pray, Amen
God’s Peace,
Pastor Brian
