Scripture: John 5: 17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.”

Every day is an opportunity.  What you choose to do with it, is up to you.  We all have areas we are seeking to develop or redevelop.  Yet, some close the door on these opportunities because they think they are done.  For them, things are the way they are and that is it.  Not so.  God is always about the business of working God's will and way into this world.  As such, God is always using who is available to assist (Matthew 9: 36-38).  The work could be externally or internally, or most likely, both (Colossians 3:17).  Everyday offers a lot of opportunities to accomplish the will of God, even if it is nothing more than spending time in prayer.  I say, nothing more because that is how many view their time of prayer.  They see it as something small and insignificant.  It is not.  To be in the presence of God, and speak, is a high honor God grants everyone.  Just because it is open to everyone does not diminish what is occuring when you pray.  You have God's attention.  Sometimes, just knowing the Almighty God is with you and attentive to your situation is enough to quell anything you were about to pray.  You have your answer without saying a word.  Prayer is needed to accomplish any task we are seeking to do for God (1 Thessalonians 5: 16-17).  But also, we need to have the right perspective.  Many look at their role in serving God as all encompassing.  In other words, the job is theirs to do, others can help, but in the end it is up to them.  Not true.  Accomplishing the will of God is like a bike chain.  Each link in the chain moves the bike forward.  Each link is important to the overall progress of the bike and the movement of the chain.  If a link breaks, everything is affected.  Don't get your part (link) confused with the overall mission (chain/bike).  Dont think because it is small it doesn't matter (1 Corinthians 12: 10-25).  It does.  A simple prayer or act of grace or kindness can accomplish a lot in the life of another.  Yes, there are plenty who will not notice, but that is not your concern.  In the course of your life, you play a part (link) in many missions of God, simultaneously.  So, each morning, rise to the occasion and go forth.

Pray with me..., Holy God, thank You for using me.  Help me to live each day with purpose and goals, knowing my work for You matters.  Hear me, as I ask Your blessing on my loved ones and bless the church.  Help us to be the blessing You call us to be, in Jesus' name, Amen.

God's peace,

Pastor Brian
